How does Hail's Image Privacy work?

Image Privacy helps protect people before images are shared.

Once you've added someone to your People Locker and chosen their privacy preferences, Hail automatically checks new image uploads and applies those settings whenever a matching face is detected.

Can I protect photos we’ve already published?

Yes. A Time Machine Scan searches your existing Hail content for possible appearances of a person. You review the matches before deciding which images to blur or remove. The scan also provides a downloadable report to help you keep a record of your decisions.

What do I need to add someone to the People Locker?

Use a clear reference photo showing one person looking towards the camera, with their face visible. Then choose their privacy preferences. Hail uses the photo to recognise matching faces in future uploads and apply the protection settings you have chosen for that person.

Can we hide every face on social media?

Yes. Advanced Rules let you hide all detected faces when publishing from Hail to connected social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn. You can also choose to hide all faces everywhere. Review your images and settings to make sure the protection matches your school’s needs.

Does Hail connect with our Student Management System?

Yes. Hail connects directly to a range of Student Management Systems, including KAMAR, Edge, Hero, eTAP, FACTS, Compass and Wonde. Contact lists sync automatically, so your lists are always current without any manual updating.

Is Hail secure and safe for schools?

Yes. Hail holds ST4S (Safer Technologies for Schools) certifications, an internationally recognised standard for digital safety in education. The AI Chatbot uses only your own published content and never accesses external data.
